Mile 2 continues the downward roll, dropping from 319 feet from 1.87 to about 230 feet at the 3 mile mark. If you were fast at the mile, relax, and use the downhill to relax and get in a groove.
The 2nd mile is still pretty crowded for spectators to watch in downtown Ashland, but if you move outside of the town center, you can find more open space to camp out along the route.
